Today KOEI TECMO announced the release date for their latest addition to the Atelier series, Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of the New World.
The highly anticipated game, where you play as main character Nelke von Lestamm helping to build up the village of Westwald into a large, successful city, is being released on March 26, 2019. There will be both physical and digital releases for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with only a digital version being released for PC via Steam.
To successfully build up the village Nelke will have to earn money through various businesses and selling synthesized items.
As is usual within the Atelier games, Nelke will be able to party up with NPCs during ventures outside of Westwald. During these parties you will be able to collect raw materials and battle wild monsters. Due to being inexperienced in alchemy Nelke will have to acquire the help of the various alchemists of Westwald, all of which have strengths requiring the player makes choices for who synthesizes what items to earn the most money.
Players will receive a weekly report detailing the village population, weekly income, number of properties and number of synthesized items. Using this information players can plan out the week ahead whether it be completing quests, gathering materials or building relationships with other characters there will be progress to make the following week. As players build relationships between Nelke and other characters, several changes will happen including events arising between them, effects during synthesizing and more.
Big fans of the Atelier series will also be able to purchase a Limited Edition of the game which is shown in the image above. The Limited Edition will only be sold by NISA at a price of £89.99 in Europe or $99.99 in North America.
